GSG's New Owners
I’m pleased to announce the sale of Growth Services, a Labor Market Research firm, of Jefferson City, Missouri to the Growth Service Group, LLC. of Moberly, Missouri. Growth Services Group is one of several businesses owned by Corey Mehaffy from Moberly which provide development services to entrepreneurs, communities, and expanding businesses in Missouri and nationally. Mehaffy and his staff manage a current portfolio in excess of 70 domestic and international projects bringing his extensive experience with Federal, State and Local incentive programs as well as economic development financing tools to bear for his clients.
By purchasing Growth Services, with its products and experience at the state and national level, the Growth Services Group, LLC (GSG) is able to add Labor Market Research to the menu of services for current clients and prospective employers and local and regional economic development organizations nationally. Growth Services has developed some key products in measuring the labor component at the local and regional level for labor quality, availability, and cost to maximize overall operational competitiveness and productivity of a specific location. A national survey conducted annually by the Area Development Corporate and Consultants Site Selection Survey shows Availability of skilled labor as number 1 and Labor costs as number 3 out of 25 factors in rank of importance. An example of Mehaffy’s efforts in a highly competitive jobs market is a recent announcement by Governor Jay Nixon of a new manufacturer locating on a 147 acre site in Moberly, Missouri resulting in 125 new jobs.
I have known Corey for many years and know him for his leadership, knowledge and skill in economic development and highly recommend him and his team of professionals for any services in the labor market area. As for me, upon my completion of some transition services to GSG, my plans for retirement consist of more family, travel and volunteer activities to my community and church. Thank you all for your support over these past 20 years.
